When someone is ill, the unexpected can happen.
A short clinic visit can turn into a lengthy hospital stay, or an appointment with a local physician suddenly turns into a trip to Madison. Patients and families can often arrive unprepared for long drives and lengthy stays. The Patient and Family Assistance Fund provides gas cards, coordinates cab rides, arranges extended stays or offers other temporary support for those with unplanned needs.
UW Health, a comprehensive health system that includes the renowned University of Wisconsin Hospital and American Family Children’s Hospital, is recognized as one of the most progressive and prominent medical centers in the country, and the quality of our work is often recognized by influential organizations and media institutions.
